Hosted by the Music Industry Therapist Collective (MITC), this session explores the challenges and joys of navigating parenthood whilst working in the music industry. Join Katie Melua, one of the UK’s best-selling artists, respected music manager Sumit Bothra, and psychologist and Boo Radleys frontman Dr Simon Rowbottom as they share their personal experiences of balancing creative careers with family life.
The panel will examine the realities of becoming a parent in the music business. Discussion will include the unique pressures faced by parents - whether parenting solo or in a partnership - and the practical support systems needed. The conversation will also explore recent research findings, and suggest adjustments that music industry workplaces, including venues, studios, and offices, can implement to create a more inclusive environment for parents.
