Associate, Music Industry Therapist Collective
Dr Simon Rowbottom is a chartered psychologist and associate fellow of the British Psychological Society. He is also the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter with The Boo Radleys. This experience has given him a unique insight into the specific problems associated with working in the music industry. He is now in private practice near Oxford, and also works with The Music Industry Therapist Collective, specialising in clients from the music business. He completed his doctorate in psychotherapeutic and counselling psychology at the University of Surrey, focusing his research on problematic male gender role norms. Simon also runs Balanced Psychology – a presentation-based workshop aimed at mental health education – and regularly tours with a one man show which combines both music and psychology.
