Icelandic-Dutch artist Áslaug has carved out a distinctive space in alt-pop with her polyphonic vocals and introspective themes exploring self-image, relationships, and the balance between fragility and resilience. Her forthcoming album, Catharsis, is her most personal work yet, addressing her anxiety disorder with raw vulnerability.

Musically, Catharsis deepens Áslaug’s alternative-pop sound with powerful drums, layered synths, and melancholic melodies. Drawing inspiration from Troye Sivan, Bon Iver, Maggie Rogers, and The 1975, she blends catchy hooks with introspective depth, crafting a layered, sonic journey filled with surprises and nostalgic warmth.

Since her 2019 debut, Áslaug has earned notable accolades, including the "3FM Talent" title from the Netherlands’ largest pop radio station and a spot in the "Top 12 van 3voor12" artists to watch in 2020. Her standout performance at Eurosonic/Noorderslag in 2020 cemented her status in the music scene. Within just two years, she released two EPs, culminating in the success of her thirst EP and a headline tour across the Netherlands.
